This is the Diwali we grew up with.

The one where the afternoon was spent decorating your grandparents’ home with fragrant marigolds, colourful rangoli and rows of mud diyas, while your grandmother perfected a batch of Diwali delicacies that would be consumed through the week. The one where everyone dressed to the nines, jewels sparkling, and took family photos while music played on your grandfather’s old (but gold) sound system.
The one that brings back memories that makes you smile.
