Nesting Hero's Haven

Dedicated to Gurpreet Singh from Punjab

A teacher by profession, Gurpreet Singh is an avid bird watcher and photographer from Punjab. Back in 2006, he realized that deforestation had led to fewer birds flocking to the forest. He decided to do something about it.

He started planting trees and building mud nests for certain bird species that reside in natural cavities. Soon, many others joined him to form BEERH (Birds Environment and Earth Reviving Hands). Together, they planted lakhs of trees in the jungle around Faridkot to be able to place mud nests for birds. Today, over 16 species of birds like house sparrows, owls, parrots and pigeons fly home to a mud nest in the forest!

The meticulously conceptualized artwork on the gift hampers depicts him watching over his fluttering fleet with pride - inspiring us by showcasing that even ordinary individuals can make an extraordinary difference to our planet.

Ocean Guardian's Treasure

Dedicated to Aravind & Thaaragai from Chennai , a father-daughter duo

Aravind is a professional scuba diving instructor with a true blue passion for the ocean. He has dedicated his life to marine conservation since 2010. He began teaching his daughter Thaaragai to dive when she was 5 years old, fostering a deep love for the ocean.

The duo set out to fix the man-made errors of plastic pollution – organizing beach cleanups and diving into the ocean to clean up the home of endangered marine life, including dugongs, turtles, whale sharks, dolphins, coral, & seagrass beds. Today, at just 11 years old, Thaaragai and her father have have collected over 30,000 kgs of plastic from the ocean alone!

On the intricately hand-painted artwork, they are depicted swimming to the shore as the aquatic life they have saved reclaims their clear blue water.

Crimson Canopy Tribute

Dedicated to Abdul Ahad Khan from Kashmir

Abdul Ahad Khan, a daily wage labourer who has tirelessly planted Chinar trees, an icon of Kashmir, for the past 15 years!

In 2010, at the age of 32, he went on a short trek to a forest near his village of Nagri, Kashmir. Saddened to see the massive scale of deforestation in the area, he vowed to do something about it. Every morning, he fetches water from a small lake called Sar to nourish the trees, before his shift as a labourer. In the winter, he clears snow from the trees to protect them.

Despite initial challenges like poor tree survival rates and local opposition, Khan has planted tens and thousands of trees, transforming the landscape and inspiring many.

His story is a reminder of the impact one person can have on preserving our natural heritage. On the intricate artwork, he’s depicted grabbing a moment of serenity under the shade of the Chinar’s fiery red trees.
